Welcome

Mud Master is a 32bit mud client designed to run under Windows' console mode. The console mode is text based -- if you are looking for a graphical client with menus and a mouse-driven interface, MM isn't for you. When it comes to scrolling text, the console mode generally does it faster than the windows GUI. (Yes, I know there are exceptions.)

Anybody familiar with Tintin should have no trouble getting used to Mud Master. I used Tintin for a while before writing Mud Master and have modeled the syntax after Tintin's. With some minor adjustments, particularly to aliases, you should be able to load Tintin command files.

Most importantly, Mud Master is FREE. The client is not crippled in any way, nor does it nag you to register. If you find the program useful you are welcome to use it all you like.

Mud Master has been a hobby of mine for the last few years. I work on it when I find the time or get the urge. Sometimes this means it won't change for a lengthy period of time and sometimes there might be several updates in a week.

Features
Chat: A built-in site to site chat allows you to talk with one or more people, transfer files, transfer commands (aliases, actions, etc...). You can also 'snoop' and see what the other client is seeing.
Triggers/Actions: Match lines of text or patterns of text with wildcard characters.
Aliases: Create a virtually unlimited amount of command shortcuts. Aliases allow you to bundle multiple commands together. For instance, you might make an alias called 'eat' that would take food out of a bag, eat it, then wash it down with some ale.
Macros: Assign text or commands to the function keys and keypad. You can define the keys by themselves, with shift, alt, control, or any combination of them.
Gags: Gags allow you to prevent lines of text from being displayed. This can let you filter out the unimportant spam to more easily read what is important.
Highlights: Highlights change the color of incoming text. You can match literal text or patterns of text to be highlighted.
Tab Completion: Tab completion gives you a way to recall hard to spell words by typing just the first couple letters and pressing the key.
History Buffer: The history buffer remembers the last 50 commands you typed. Pressing the up-arrow scrolls back through the list.
Scrollback Buffer: The scrollback buffer gives you a way to review text that has already scrolled off your screen. By default it remembers the last 600 lines (in color).
Events: Events let you schedule recurring actions to be taken after an amount of time.
Editable Text Input: A non-scrolling text editing line at the bottom of the screen. You don't have to worry about incoming text scrolling in the middle of what you are typing.
Status Bar: The user definable status bar lets you display information above or below the input bar.
Lists: Lists provide a way to store information in a sorted manner.
Arrays: Both single and two dimensional arrays of unlimited size can be created. Well, limited by the amount of memory you have.
Plugins: Add-ons can be created for Mud Master by anybody who can write windows DLLs.
This is a small sample of the many features found in Mud Master. For a complete list of features look through the Command and Procedure pages.
